Appraisal fraud is on the rise in 2009. According to the report, the most noticeable increase in reported fraud type for loans originated during the 2009 year is in appraisal fraud and misrepresentation.

Mortgage Groups Support AMCs in Letter to House Leaders |

In a letter to Chairmen Frank and Slaughter, and Ranking Members Bachus and Dreier, The Consumer Mortgage Coalition & Housing Policy Council conveyed the organizations' support of appraisal management companies (AMCs). The letter was a response to the recently passed mortgage reform legislation (H.R. 1728).
